The course of study for the B.S. in Biological Sciences requires 60 semester hours, which include 20 hours of core courses, plus 40 hours of required courses and designated electives within their chosen specialization area. All designated electives must be approved by the faculty e.
Students must complete the following core courses in biology with grades of "C" or better (grades of "C-" or below are not acceptable). The math and writing core courses must be completed with grades of "C-" or better.

Specialization Areas in Biological Science
Five specialization areas are available to students pursuing the B.S. degree in Biological Sciences. In all cases, prerequisites for any course must be satisfied prior to enrollment in the course. Students must complete the required courses for each specialization area with grades of "C" or better (grades of "C-"or below are not acceptable). Designated elective courses must be completed with grades of "C-" or better.

Pre-Health professions students (e.g., medical, dental, physician assistant, physical therapy or nursing) are advised that most health professional schools require the following courses; however, students are responsible for determining the specific requirements of those medical schools selected for application:
