Responsibilities: This position is responsible for reviewing environmental documents; preparing letters of recommendation on development projects affecting both terrestrial and aquatic biota, including those which require federal and/or state permits. Coordinates with federal, state and private entities concerning development project. Performs field investigations to determine impacts of proposed development projects on terrestrial and aquatic resources. Attends meetings and hearings as a Department representative. Assists with the development of databases and computer-supported data analysis capabilities. Assists with the development and implementation of special studies or projects. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.

Fish & Wildlife Technician I / Wildlife Technician
Under the immediate supervision of the Project Leader, the Fish & Wildlife Technician is responsible for wildlife management and biological survey work on the Upper Coast Wetland Ecosystem Project. Work involves the collection of biological data and assisting with wildlife research projects as assigned. Main emphasis will be on the management of wildlife habitat and maintaining and repairing infrastructure/complex equipment needed for research, habitat management or maintenance activities. Assists with public hunting and other public use on assigned area where applicable. Provides wildlife management information to hunters, land managers, other user groups and the general public.

JOB SKILLS: Excellent written and oral communication skills, comfortable balancing multiple projects concurrently, and strong analytical skills are required. Candidate must be able to utilize Microsoft Office programs. Additional preferred skills include: previous environmental compliance; ability to read engineering plans and specifications; previous experience with water-related science and/or engineering; familiarity with water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance design, statistical analysis skills, previous public sector and/or armed forces experience, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) experience.
