The University of Houston-Clear Lake is the largest upper-level institution in Texas. Most incoming students take lower-level courses from community colleges in the Houston area. Other students arrive from universities elsewhere in the United States and overseas.
The chemistry program in UHCL offers upper-level courses for the last two years of study. It also offers a limited set of service courses in the lower level. Students must complete most of the expected preparation courses before beginning study at UHCL. Prospective students may visit the website for admission requirements, and admission procedures.
UHCL has developed a series of articulation agreements (called the 2+2 transfer plans) for students transferring from local community colleges and other universities, which serve as guides to recommended coursework to help students transfer into programs at UHCL. Read the 2+2 plan for the chemistry program for more details. Students who have earned fewer than 30 university credit hours may consider the unilink program.
