Master of Science - Capstone Project Course
The purpose of capstone project course to provide cumulative experience to students working in realistic projects in a team environment. The capstone project involves intensive face to face communications with other team members, the faculty instructor and the project mentor.
Most of these projects are sponsored by faculty advisors, who provide initial project specification and mentoring. Many of these projects are at the cutting edge of current chemistry research fields.
Project nature varies from projects to projects, such as the biosynthesis of amino acids, bioorganic chemistry, total synthesis, computational chemistry, environmental chemistry, inorganic chemistry, new materials research, coordination polymers, theoretical chemistry, etc.
Examples of recent projects sponsored by various funding agencies can be found at the research page.
Note that each project has different requirements and not all project information is listed in the team's Website.
Capstone project should be taken within the last twelve credit hours of study. Students may want to check with the instructors before the beginning of the semester to gain information about available projects. This is an intensive course and students are expected to work hard from day one.
