| The program requires students to have undergraduate degrees in chemistry. The department has a large number of students from a wide range of majors other than chemistry. They take foundation courses to make up the deficiencies.

Capstone projects provide opportunities for students to work on a real world projects, usually mentored by a faculty in a team environment.
