Industrial Hygiene and Safety Mission Statement

| The mission of the Industrial Hygiene and Safety specializations in the Environmental Science program at the University of Houston - Clear Lake is to prepare students in the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of environmental hazards that may occur in the workplace that may cause injury, illness, disease, or worker discomfort; and to provide graduates with the academic foundations to successfully pursue a career, obtain professional certification, or pursue graduate studies in the occupational health and safety fields. As professionals they should be able to function as resources for the community and communicate their expertise to people with a broad range of technical backgrounds.
