“Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure Science.” ~ Edwin Powell Hubble, American astronomer, 1889-1953
And that adventure continues at the University of Houston’s School of Science and Computer Engineering (SCE). Our innovative, partnership- oriented institution gives serious students like you the skills needed to launch successful careers. Through high-quality academic programs, you can expand your knowledge base and find new ways to apply established science to benefit society.
If you are interested in a science or engineering career, your journey starts here. We offer 12 bachelor’s degree programs across many scientific disciplines. Each program offers a unique blend of teaching, research and hands-on service that strengthens your ability to solve problems, work independently and with a team, and think critically.
It’s this hands-on experience that really sets UHCL apart. Small class sizes ensure you get one-on-one mentoring and the opportunity to work first-hand on more than 100 undergraduate research projects each year in state-of-the-art laboratories. Plus, through 70 plus cooperative education assignments and internships in organizations like NASA Johnson’s Space Center, Boeing, United Space Alliance and many others, you work alongside local industry professionals, collecting data and conducting research that lead to viable solutions for area businesses.
Several of our programs are nationally accredited. Plus, UHCL is one of only ten U.S. universities with computing programs accredited under three different curriculum guidelines: computer engineering, computer science and information systems.
At the end of your journey, you will be well prepared for a bright future – in business, academia or future graduate studies. I invite you to experience UHCL for yourself. Call the Office of Admissions at (281) 283-2500 to schedule an appointment to tour our beautiful, wooded campus and meet our exceptional faculty. I look forward to meeting you and watching your career succeed at Graduation.
