Poster Presentation
Posters offer you the opportunity to present your data and your work to your colleagues. They also provide you the opportunity to have one-to-one discussions with interested colleagues. Authors can present their papers or works by using a visual medium with key excerpts from the papers displayed on 60" x 84" wide free-standing bulletin boards. Poster presentations should incorporate illustrative materials such as tables, graphs, photographs, and large-print text. These materials and text should be clearly readable.
Suggested Overall Formats
Preferred: Single PowerPoint slide printed on a large format printer. Please click How to Create a Poster with PowerPoint
Alternative: Printouts of individual PowerPoint slides. Using glue sticks, glue each printed page to a piece of colored construction paper, leaving a 0.75” colored border on all sides. Use the same color construction paper throughout.

Printing Your Poster
We suggest having the poster printed at the UHCL Copy Center. Large format poster printing services are also offered at Kinko’s, Office Max, etc. You may also check at your own college/university campus for printing services.
Copy Center at UHCL
- Location: Bayou Building 2.403
- Payment: Cash or check
- Maximum size: Contact the Copy Center
- Poster File Format: MUST be one PowerPoint slide or a pdf file
- Turnaround Time: At least 24 hours. The closer to the conference, the more time you should allow for the center to print your poster. We recommend that you have your poster ready at least one week before the conference. Then, if something is not right, you have time to correct it and can rehearse with your final poster.
