Parking
Everyone, including performers, technicians, volunteers and audience must park in the Visitor Lot (See Campus Map link at the bottom of the page ). A token will be needed to exit each time. Details on token availability and possible cost can be obtained from the Office of Scheduling and Space Planning.Oversized trucks and buses must make arrangements with the Office of Scheduling and Space Planning. Trucks will be allowed to park in the Student Lot. However, it will be a greater distance away from the building.
Performers EntryAt the loading dock, the door on the left is the Backstage Entrance for performers and crew.
Directions Enter from Bay Area Boulevard into entrance “UH1”. Follow signs to the Bayou Building. Turn Right on University Drive (toward Student Parking Lot D). Turn Left at the third (3rd) drive on the left hand side. Go straight back till road makes a “T”. Then turn left. The loading dock is on the right near the student building entrance.
The loading dock is utilized by the entire university. Therefore, after trucks and cars are unloaded, they must be moved from the drive
Clearance There is at least a 13’-8” clearance for trucks. The loading dock opening is 14’-0” wide and 8’-6” high. Once inside, there is a slight left turn to maneuver in the scene shop to access the stage proper. (The two doors are just offset from one another).
