The judges make the decision for chili trophies based on Taste, Consistency, Spice, and Aroma (ranking each 1 through 10). The judges also give out the spirit award based on themes, decorations, and attitude. Joyce Delores Taylor, Patrick Cardenas, and Nida Ajaz judged both chili and booths for the SGA award. Some neat themes in the past have included a helicopter landing, a Blockie bathhouse, one team giving out Chili Degrees, the Legal Studies Association had The Court of Chili Justice and had a trial for those that visited their booth, and one team even wore prom dresses.
