The Campus Recreation program is dedicated to providing students an opportunity to develop a healthier and happier lifestyle. We offer diverse and dynamic recreational programming and facilities in order to meet the needs of our students and create a fun and connected University Community. Through these offerings, we will strive to teach students the importance of exercise and recreational activities in preparation for a productive, balanced and rewarding life. We are currently housed in the fitness room on the second floor of the SSCB.

Fitness Room Policies

  1. All patrons must have a towel to use the fitness room. The towel must be visible at all times.
  2. Children under 16 years of age are not allowed in the facility at any time.
  3. Proper athletic attire is required, no midriff should be exposed. Any attire with buttons, rivets, or zippers is NOT permitted.
  4. Soft-soled, closed-toed athletic shoes must be worn. Open-toed, open-heeled shoes and sandals are not permitted.
  5. Food and beverages are not allowed with the exception of water in plastic bottles. Glass containers are not allowed. 
  6. No chewing gum allowed.
  7. Personal belongings must be kept in a locker. Day use lockers are available at no additional cost. Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  8. Tobacco of any kind is prohibited. Refer to Student Life Policies Handbook for more information.
  9. Only authorized Campus Recreation staff may provide personal training services.
  10. Video or photography with any type of camera is prohibited unless permission has been given by the Assistant Director of Student Life, Recreation and Fitness and waiver(s) is/are signed.
  11. Report any equipment issues, injuries or incidents to the Campus Recreation staff.
  12. All equipment must be used in the manner for which it is designed.
  13. Wipe down machines when finished, including cardio machines.
  14. Re-rack weights – barbells, dumbbells and plates – when finished using them.
  15. When weight lifting, user must be able to control the weights. No banging or dropping of weights.
  16. Spotters and collars are recommended for all lifts.
  17. Vulgarity or inappropriate comments of any type are prohibited.
  18. For safety, cell phone use while using equipment is not permitted.

Help us keep this a safe and clean environment for everyone. Failure to do so may result in you being asked to leave the facility or may lead to the suspension of your privileges in the fitness room. Those utilizing Campus Recreation programs, services and facilities are held accountable to the Student Life Policies/Student Code of Conduct including complying with reasonable directions of university officials performing their duties.
