Sarah Hopson is seeking a Bachelor of Science in Fitness and Human Performance at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Her transcript of service would include the roles of President for the National Society of Leadership and Success and Student Government Association Representative for the Black Students Association, and Fitness and Human Performance Honor Society. She is also a proud mentor in the Students Helping Other Students to Succeed Program, a member of the Hilary Jo Karp Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, and a silver award recipient in the Servant Leader Scholar Program. Sarah attributes a significant portion of her success to the support of her family and friends as well as the community of leaders that surrounds her at UHCL.
As SGA President, Sarah presides at all meetings of the Student Government Association and will conduct all SGA meetings in accordance with parliamentary procedure. Sarah serves on the University Council and the Student Life Council during the year of her tenure. Sarah is also scheduled to attend UH System Board of Regents meetings. One of Sarah's primary duties is to represent the student body when she is requested to do so. Sarah also assists the other Executive Council members in their duties to ensure success.
Vice President - Committee Coordinator
Doreen Bridges
Doreen is seeking a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She will continue on to complete a certificate in Middle-School education. Doreen has served as Executive Council External Affairs Director, for SGA at UHCL. Previously she has served as Secretary for College of the Mainland, SGA, served as Treasurer and President of Little League in her community. She continues to volunteer for the Dickinson ISD Champs reading program, MI Lewis Social Service Center and her church. Doreen works part-time as a substitute teacher in area districts and enjoys helping other become involved.
As Vice-President - Committee Coordinator, Doreen works closely with the Student Government Advisor to publicize and recruit students for committee positions. Doreen will also orient new student representatives to their committees and responsibilities. Doreen will conduct regular meetings of all committee student representatives to share information and resources and keep the SGA leadership informed of committee activities. Doreen will also ensure that student committee representatives keep appropriate records. She will also ensure that student committee representatives attend committee meetings and meet committee obligations, and that student committee representatives make regular reports to the Student Government Association. Doreen will also help fill unexpected vacancies during the year. Doreen will also serve as president in the absence of the SGA president, and assist other Executive Council members in their duties as requested.

Carla Bradley
Carla Bradley is seeking a Master of Arts in Digital Media Studies at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She received her BA in Communication from UHCL in Spring 2011. Her involvement with on-campus groups and organizations include the Celebrating Our Elders Cohort, Communication and Digital Media Association, Hispanics Advancing Culture, and most recently, the Student Government Association.
As Vice-President - Student Outreach and Communications, Carla will coordinate publicity for the Student Government Association through preparation and distribution of flyers, banners, signs, The Signal articles and reports, and classroom presentations. Carla will also coordinate outreach efforts by soliciting student input through various sources, e.g., town meetings and student surveys. If needed, Carla will take minutes and attendance in the absence of the Vice President-Administration.Carla will also assist the Vice-President - Committee Coordinator in publicizing committee vacancies. Carla will also ensure that SGA information is published in all editions of The Signal, and assist other Executive Council members in their duties as requested.

Grace Striz
Grace Striz is seeking a Bachelor of Science is Accounting and eventually a Master of Science in Accounting. She is an active member in Beta Alpha Psi and the Accounting Association. She has volunteered at the Pasadena Animal Shelter and St. Bernadette's Church. Her future plans are to pursue a CPA and CFE and work in a firm doing audit work. In the past she has enjoyed mountain climbing and skydiving and is currently training for the "Hotter than Hell" bike ride next year.
As Vice President – Administration, Grace will record proceedings of all Student Government Association meetings, and distribute minutes and agenda. Grace will also keep accurate attendance records. Grace will also prepare Student Government Association correspondence as necessary, and maintain the SGA checking account. As the Executive Council's "backbone", Grace will assist other Executive Council members in their duties as requested.
