President

Patrick Lawrence Cardenas, M.A. 1st Year Graduate Student Cross Cultural Studies School of Human Sciences and Humanities   Phone: 281.283.2556 Email: cardenas@uhcl.edu   As SGA President, Patrick presides at all meetings of the Student Government Association. He will conduct all SGA meetings in accordance with parliamentary procedure. Patrick serves on the UHCL Student Life Council during the year of his tenure. Patrick also serves on the University Council during the year of his tenure. Patrick is also scheduled to attend UH System Board of Regents meetings. One of Patrick’s primary duties is to represent the student body when he is requested to do so. Patrick also assists the other Executive Council members in their duties to ensure success.

Vice President - Committee Coordinator

Steven M. Steiner, M.A. 1st Year Graduate Student Cross Cultural Studies School of Human Sciences and Humanities   Phone: 281.283.2556 Email: Steiner@uhcl.edu   As Vice-President - Committee Coordinator, Steve works closely with the Student Government Advisor to publicize and recruit students for committee positions. Steve will also orient new student representatives to their committees and responsibilities. Steve will conduct regular meetings of all committee student representatives to share information and resources and keep the SGA leadership informed of committee activities. Steve will also ensure that student committee representatives keep appropriate records. He will also ensure that student committee representatives attend committee meetings and meet committee obligations, and that student committee representatives make regular reports to the Student Government Association. Steve will also help fill unexpected vacancies during the year. Steve will also serve as president in the absence of the SGA president, and assist other Executive Council members in their duties as requested.

Vice President - Outreach & Communication

Amanda Schoolcraft Senior Business School of Business   Phone: 281.283.2556 Email: schoolcraft@uhcl.edu   As Vice-President - Student Outreach and Communications, Amanda will coordinate publicity for the Student Government Association through preparation and distribution of flyers, banners, signs, The Signal articles and reports, and classroom presentations. Amanda will also coordinate outreach efforts by soliciting student input through various sources, e.g., town meetings and student surveys. If needed, Amanda will take minutes and attendance in the absence of the Vice President-Administration. Amanda will also assist the Vice-President - Committee Coordinator in publicizing committee vacancies. Amanda will also ensure that SGA information is published in all editions of The Signal, and assist other Executive Council members in their duties as requested.

Vice President - Administration

Chris Greenfield, OSTJ BSc 1st Year Graduate Student Physics School of Computer Science and Engineering   Phone: 281.283.2556 Email: greenfield@uhcl.edu   As Vice President – Administration, Chris will Record proceedings of all Student Government Association meetings, and distribute minutes and agenda. Chris will also keep accurate attendance records. Chris will also prepare Student Government Association correspondence as necessary, and maintain the SGA checking account. As the Executive Council’s “backbone”, Chris will assist other Executive Council members in their duties as requested.
