Emerging Leaders Academy

Did you know that research has shown that college students who get involved in student organizations and campus activities outside of the classroom are more likely to succeed inside the classroom? Join us for an overview about opportunities for involvement at UHCL, and learn from alumni and current student leaders how they have been able to make the most of their experience at UHCL, and how they have been able to apply skills learned from their activities in "the real world". Bonus: Students who attend this workshop will get to take the StrengthsFinder assessment at the end of this session so they can participate in Thursday's session.

Get to know other UHCL students in this fun, interactive workshop! Student Life Office staff will lead participants in "get to know you" icebreakers and team-builders. You are guaranteed to leave this session with an increased network!

The National Society of Leadership and Success is an organization that helps people discover and achieve their goals. The Society offers life-changing lectures from the nation's leading presenters and a community where like-minded success oriented individuals come together and help one another succeed. The Society also serves as a powerful force of good in the greater community by encouraging and organizing action to better the world. The UHCL Student Chapter of NSLS is one of the most active and diverse student organizations at UHCL. During this session, current NSLS members will talk about the "NSLS Experience" and you will also get to see one of our Spring 2013 Speaker Broadcasts.

Prerequisite: Must attend Aug 19 session to take StrengthsFinder in order to participate in this session.
