Center for Educational Programs (CEP)

The UHCL School of Education Center for Educational Programs, in Arbor Building Room 190, offers academic and outreach services to students, schools, school districts, and members of the community. The CEP also coordinates several community programs in conjunction with School of Education programs. Dr. Anne Coppenhaver director of the Center for Educational Programs, counsels districts and individual educators who have needs that the Center or the School of Education might meet.

The list below describes several community programs; please click the program title for more information.

Testing is conducted by a TEA Certified Educational Diagnostician and is offered at a reasonable cost to the public. A full evaluation includes cognitive, achievement, and perceptual instruments as appropriate. For more information call 281/283-3530.

Back to the U Back to the U is an umbrella organization for several continuing education initiatives. Seminars throughout the year offer a variety of opportunities for enrichment. One strand, the Gifted and Talented Education seminars, allows students to earn initial GT certification or update their training. The Environmental Education strand, the outreach arm of the Environmental Institute of Houston, conducts programs year-round to K-12 educators. In addition, the technology, educational leadership, and general professional development strands allow students to choose exciting, worthwhile coursework. Come Back to the U for challenging, high-quality, and timely educational experiences!
Reading, Writing, and Study Skills Tutoring The CEP and the SoE Literacy, Language and Library Science Program offer individual one-to-one tutoring for students in grades 1-12 during the spring, fall, and summer semesters.
