Qualifications to enter into Pre-service Internship II:

  • Successful completion of Pre-Service Internship I TCED 4738 (grade of “B-“ or better).
  • Successful completion of all Pedagogy courses (grade of “C-“ or better) and LLLS 4434 and all courses requiring field experience.
  • Minimum 3.000 GPA or better in Pedagogy Courses with grades of C- or better (grades of D+ or below are not acceptable). Pre-service Internship I requires a grade of B- or better).
  • Minimum 2.500 GPA in specialization(s) courses with grades of C- or better. Grades of D+ or below are not acceptable (transfer courses will be included in this GPA calculation).
  • Grades of “C-“ or better are required for all other coursework at UHCL.
  • Requirements Remaining---Ideally, you should have ONLY Pre-service Internship II remaining for your Internship II semester. However you may have 6 hours of course work remaining (not including Internship II). A maximum course load of 15 hours (TOTAL) is allowable during the Internship II semester. (NOTE: Courses offered at 4:00 p.m. may not be taken during Internship II, as not to interfere with requirements for Internship II.)
  • Apply for Pre-service Internship II by March 1 for following fall semester and October 1 for following spring semester. Application cards are given to Intern I candidates at their first meeting of semester with the Director of CPDT. Application cards are completed at that time and returned.
  • Internship II Audits are done during the semester of Internship I and sent to the Intern I candidate before priority registration. Pre-authorization is required for registration for Internship II.
