BAS in Early Childhood
If you are looking for the BAS degrees focused on early childhood, then you need to go to http://soe.uhcl.edu/bas. These degrees are the ones which are 120 credit hour 2 + 2 collaborative degree programs with the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Child Development degree. These degrees are primarily focused on young children birth through age 5 and are designed for teachers, directors and other professionals in child care, Head Start, Early Head Start, other infant and toddler programs, private preschools, Early Intervention programs or other programs where teacher certification is not required.
Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education
If you are looking for the program which leads to teacher certification and is focused on early childhood education, then you need to go to Early Childhood EC-6. This is the program [(Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with EC – 6 Generalist Certification (Early Childhood Concentration)] that leads to you being a certified teacher working with infants, toddlers and young children in educational and family settings.
Early Childhood Education MS
If you are looking for a graduate degree in Early Childhood, then you should go to http://soe.uhcl.edu/eced. This degree is designed for those individuals who already have a degree and are interested in working with infants, toddlers and young children in educational and family settings. The courses provide instruction, experience, and continuing professional development to support the diverse roles and responsibilities of the early childhood educator. There are three tracks that students can follow in this program:
- Master of Science in Early Childhood Education
- Master of Science with Focus on Young Children with Disabilities
- Master of Science with Early Childhood – Grade 6 (EC-6) Certification.
