Course Prerequisites for the EdD in Educational Leadership

Every student must have completed the following UHCL courses or their equivalent prior to undertaking doctoral-level coursework:

EDUC 6032 Applied Statistics
EDUC 6033 Research Design and Analysis
INST 6031 Applications of Technology or TCED 6031 Applications of Technology in the Classroom
SILC 6030 Foundations of Multicultural Education or TCED 6031 Applications of Technology in the Classroom.

Note that the four courses listed above are prerequisites and do not count in the doctoral program.

It is possible to transfer courses into the EdD program. The decision to allow the transfer is made by the Associate Dean and is based on how recently the course was completed, the grade the student achieved and how similar the course is to the EdD course it is replacing. Normally, however, no more than 6 hours of transferred courses will be allowed on the EdD program.
