Parenting Programs

  • Even Start-serves preschool children and parents-Deepwater Early Learning Center in Deer Park ISD has a good program - (713) 475 6116.
  • Tegler Center in Pasadena ISD serves teen parents of PISD students. They have Parents as Teacher (serving children 0-3) as well as other programs. This center has a high Spanish speaking Hispanic population, so Spanish is a plus, but not absolutely required (281 998-5548.
  • Parents as Teachers programs-These programs teach child development and parenting shills in a prepared program format to parents of children ages 0-3 in their homes and other settings. Some PAT programs are in schools, like the one mentioned above and in LaPorte and others are sponsored by agencies and churches.
  • El Centro de Corazon - This is a multi-service center serving Hispanic families in the Navigation area near the Ship Channel. It also has Parents as Teacher, as well as other family-oriented programs. Spanish is necessary. (713) 926-1849.
    Healthy Families-This program serves at-risk families in Brazoria County through parenting and other outreach programs. It is located in the Youth and Family Counseling Services in Angleton (409) 849-5711 ext. 1577.
