Choose Courses Prior to INST Graduate Program Admittance
If you are beginning a UHCL Master of Science in Instructional Technology (INST), you are advised to complete all admission requirements to the UHCL School of Education. Then apply to the INST program so that you will have an advisor and can prepare a candidate plan of studies. The candidate plan of studies is not possible to complete UNTIL you are admitted into the INST program. If you cannot obtain admission to the INST program first, then enroll in your classes using the following information. Thus, if admitted to the SoE without yet being admitted into the Instructional Technology Program INST admissions, you should take as your first course:
INST 5131 Trends and Issues - In this course you will develop an essential understanding of the field of instructional technology, while learning about media utilization, diffusion of innovations, technology implementation, policies and regulations.
If you would like to take additional courses with INST 5131 for your first semester enrollment, please choose from the following list of courses:
INST 6031 Applications of Technology OR
SILC 6030 Foundations of Multicultural Education OR
INST 5130 Learning Theory and Instruction
After you receive the letter of admittance to the INST Graduate Program, you should follow the course sequencing guidelines provided by your Adviser.
