Teacher Education
The Teacher Education Program offers courses to teacher certification students which involve teaching methods, field experience, and professional development. The program also offers a Master's of Science in Curriculum and Instruction, which is an interdisciplinary degree designed for the professional development of practicing elementary and secondary teachers. It includes curriculum theory and design, curriculum planning and evaluation, instructional strategy design and implementation, and subject-specific methods and content. The coursework gives its graduates a base of knowledge and skills so they can pursue careers as master teachers, team or department chairs, or curriculum writers. Some coursework may apply toward initial or additional teaching certifications.
