Purpose The purpose of this organization is to increase the general population’s awareness and interest in the sales and marketing profession through active involvement with marketing professionals and corporations. The Association will assist interested and qualified individuals in educating themselves through programs and seminars which match their personal skill sets with the most appropriate marketing positions and companies available. AMA will also help leverage the knowledge, skills, and experience of successful sales and marketing professionals to maximize the productivity and effectiveness of future industry professionals.
Membership Requirements Membership is open to all current students, faculty, and staff interested in marketing.
Role & Scope The University of Houston - Clear Lake Collegiate Chapter of the American Marketing Association is an affiliate of the National American Marketing Association. Dr. Kathleen Williamson and the marketing faculty serve in an advisory capacity to the American Marketing Association. The American Marketing Association is accountable to the Coordinator of Student Life.
Purpose & Goals The American Marketing Association has four primary purposes:
- Professional Development
- Skills Development
- Networking Opportunities
- A safe place to try out new skills and ideas
The American Marketing Association has four goals:
- Leadership: The American Marketing Association Executive council, as well as members will exemplify responsible leadership.
- Governance: The American Marketing Association is committed to strong participation in the UH-Clear Lake shared governance process.
- Advocacy: The American Marketing Association is committed to represent the collective voice of all UH-Clear Lake students.
