Director's Message

Welcome to the Student Success Center! While our services and programs currently center on peer tutoring and supplemental instruction, the Student Success Center will continue to expand.

It is a fundamental goal of the Center to create a learning environment that supports the academic needs of all students. We resist the label that tutoring or academic support is just for struggling students. Our doors are open to all students, regardless of academic skill level or success. All students are encouraged to seek tutoring, attend supplemental instruction sessions, sign up for a workshop, or meet with an academic mentor. Our services are designed to meet students where they are.

I invite you to come visit us and take advantage of our increasing number of services or just to find a quiet place to study. It is our place to improve the quality of your academic experience. The Student Success Center will continue to increase its collaborative function with other university offices. Together we will develop a network of student support aimed at addressing the changing needs of UHCL's diverse student body. Should you have any questions or concerns about the Student Success Center and the role its programs can play in your educational experience at UHCL, please do not hesitate to contact me.
