Piper Award Nominations

2010 Piper Nominations

  • Deadline: Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 12 noon
  • Nomination Forms: Also available at the main entrances of all UHCL buildings

Previous Piper Nominees

The UHCL Piper Award Committee, composed of an equal number of students and faculty, selects one professor to be honored for excellence in teaching. This professor then represents the university in competition for the 2010 Minnie Stevens Piper Award, a prestigious and valuable teaching prize.

If you would like to honor an outstanding professor, fill out a nomination form and share that information with us. All faculty members with full teaching assignments are eligible except those on the selection committee.

Completed forms may be e-mailed to Nina Perez at perez@uhcl.edu from your UHCL e-mail account only. Completed paper nomination forms require a signature and may be submitted via

  • Drop boxes located at the main entrance of all UHCL buildings
  • Dropped off at Office of AVP for Student Services, B2523
  • Mailed to UHCL box #349

Faculty and students are encouraged to nominate an outstanding professor.

Dr. Kim Case

The University of Houston Clear Lake is proud to announce the winner of the 2009 Piper Award nominee, Dr. Kim Case, assistant professor of psychology and women's studies. Case in addition to teaching is the co-director of the teaching-learning enhancement center."Being chosen as the UHCL Piper Award recipient can only be described as the greatest honor I have ever received," Case said.
