Faculty Guide: Motor Impairment

Accommodations

For students in a wheelchair, check the accessibility in and out of the classroom and request a room change if the room is not suitable for all of your students.

For student's with hand-function limitations allow: 

  • Notetaker or tape recording of lectures
  • Accept recorded or typed responses for written assignments and exams
  • Allow a proctor/scribe to work with student for exams
  • Administering exams orally

For student's with chronic back problems or other physical limitations allow the students to alternate between sitting, standing or walking depending on which allows them to be the most comfortable.
