Between 70 and 80 percent of all legally blind persons in the United States have measurable vision.

Partially or legally blind students experience such problems as: 

  • recurring eye-strain while reading
  • inability to read standards-sized prints
  • difficulty reading certain colors of ink
  • inability to see at night or in poorly lighted areas
  • fluctuations in visual acuity
