Office of University Advancement

University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Office of University Advancement exists to provide professional, visionary guidance and leadership to the university in the areas of development, alumni and community relations, and communications.

The UA team focuses on motivating and inspiring people to “invest” in the university as students, alumni, volunteers, donors and/or advocates through a broad range of programs that foster understanding, awareness and support of the institution. UA programs include the following:

• Alumni Relations – Cultivates support for UHCL through an array of activities targeted at building relationships between former students and current students, faculty and community friends.
  
  
• Community Relations – Increases the visibility of UHCL by coordinating university events for community participation, ensuring university involvement in community organizations and fostering positive individual relationships with key community opinion leaders.
  
  
• Communications – Builds awareness of and support for UHCL through media relations, print publications, online communications and crisis communications. The office serves as the university’s official news media contact and promotes consistent institutional messages and graphics in print, broadcast and online communications.
  
  
• Development – Raises both restricted and unrestricted funds for UHCL through a comprehensive program of annual giving, major gifts and planned giving.
