Phone Reference Guide
The following information covers the vocabulary associated with your Siemens Optiset phone. A brief description of your Optiset phone keys and what the different dial tones mean. There are also some frequently asked questions in this section. And last but not least a description of and how to set up the different features available on your phone.
Vocabulary
Line Keys - shows extensions on your phone
Status Lights - Tell you if extension is busy (steady light), Ringing (blinking), On Hold (flashing fast), Forwarded (flickering fastest), Available (no light)
Speed Dial - Provides access to last number redial, station speed dial, saved number redialed, system speed dial, previous menu
Call Forwarding - to forward calls to another extension
Do Not Disturb - to block incoming calls
Previous Menu - to return to the Main Menu
Private Hold - to place a call in a temporary waiting position from which it can be retrieved only from your phone
Mark Bad Line - to report a bad connection with an external call. Helps locate troubles in lines
Call Forwarding - to forward calls to another extension
Repdials - to set up keys for one-touch dialing
Station Speed Dial - to assign frequently used dialing sequences to codes for easy dialing
Saved Number Redial - to redial a number you have saved
Last Number Redial - The last number you call or called you
Park - Lets you move a call to an extension and hold it there until you or someone else picks it up
Pickup - Lets you answer calls ringing, on hold, queued or parked at another extension
Toggle - To go back and forth between two calls
Conference Call - Lets up to 8 parties, including yourself, to participate in a call
Pick a Call and Add to Conference - To add a ringing phone, on hold, parked, busy standby
System Speed Dialing - Numbers programmed into the switch by the system administrator, not in use
Transfer - Lets you move a call to another extension
Extension Forwarding - your calls automatically go to PhoneMail or another extension
Consultation - Let’s you put a party on consultation hold so you can call someone else
