Wimba, Inc. provides several free resources to assist with learning to use their product. As you browse the documentation, you will want to remember UHCL uses Wimba Classroom, Wimba Pronto and Blackboard Learn 9.

When can I use Wimba?

Faculty

Wimba Classroom integrates with the online course platform, Blackboard. This means that faculty can create their own Wimba Classroom virtual space directly from within Blackboard once that online course is within Blackboard. Information will be forthcoming from UCT about migrating from WebCT to Blackboard, or creating a new course in Blackboard.

Beginning February 1^st, 2010, faculty may request a Wimba practice account to facilitate getting acquainted with the application prior to using it within a Blackboard course.

Staff

Staff wishing to have access to Wimba Classroom should contact the Support Center starting February 1^st, 2010.
