Macori Student Health Insurance

Domestic Students

You must be taking six credit hours and live in Texas to be eligible for this optional health insurance. There are some restrictions on refferals based on how far you live from UHCL.

International Students

You are required to have health insurance regardless of the number of credit hours you are taking. The cost for this health insurance is included in your school fees. If you already have insurance, contact Admissions to petition to waive this fee.

Cost

• Fall Semester: $420.00
• Spring Semester, including Summer: $420.00
• Summer Semester: $210.00

Insurance Coverage

Primary Care
UHCL Health Center is your primary care facility with the university's insurance program. We bill insurance for services rendered within clinic. 

Referral
You must receive a referral before seeing a physician outside our clinic. You will be responsible for meeting the required deductible as stated in the policy and filing your claim with the insurance company.

Emergency
In an emergency, you may go to the nearest Urgent Care or Hospital to seek immediate medical attention without a referral. You will be responsible for meeting the required deductible as stated in the policy.
