ASTR 3131: Modern Astronomy Introduction to the history and development of astronomy; telescope optics; laws of planetary motion; planetary structures, atmospheres and surfaces; the sun; elements of astrophysics; stellar structure and evolution; galactic structure and evolution; cosmology. Some telescope observation sessions as "seeing" permits. Not available for graduate credit in Physical Sciences.
