PHYS 5731: Statistical Mechanics and Thermodynamics Prerequisites: PHYS 5531, CHEM 5130 or instructor approval and PHYS 4531 or equivalent. An advanced treatment of statistical mechanics and thermodynamics in order to solve problems involving many individual particles. Topics include probability, microcanonical and canonical ensembles and the laws of thermodynamics.
