Mathematics and Statistics Department

An undergraduate or graduate degree from University of Houston-Clear Lake's Mathematics and Statistics Department is designed to prepare students in the fields of medicine, insurance, finance, education, sciences, and engineering. UH-Clear Lake also offers a Master of Science in Statistics, with the two programs sharing courses and faculty.

The Dual Master of Science in Mathematics and Master of Science in Statistics degree plan emphasizes a curriculum that is designed to educate students in both mathematics and statistics. The plan is suitable for students with degrees in engineering, science, or other fields with an undergraduate background in mathematics.

The Statistics program offers students the option of a MS in Statistics as well as a Dual MS in Mathematics and MS in Statistics. Graduates of the UHCL's Statistics program have been placed in diverse careers, including statistician/biostatisticians, and analysts in the field of medical institutes, banking, insurance, investment, energy, environmental sciences, and researchers.

The Master of Science in Statistics is designed to educate students in the theory and application of statistics. The master's degree plan prepares students with statistical knowledge, computing skills, and technical communication skills that are necessary in their careers. The plan is suitable for students with an undergraduate background in mathematics, engineering, or the sciences.

The Dual Master of Science in Statistics and Master of Science in Mathematics degree plan emphasizes a curriculum that is designed to educate students in both mathematics and statistics. The plan is suitable for students with degrees in engineering, science, or other fields with an undergraduate background in mathematics.
